Backend Engineer – API & Distributed Systems(Golang&AI)

About the role

OmniTrans AI Sdn. Bhd. is a fast-growing Travel Technology company providing transportation aggregation and distribution solutions for OTAs, travel agencies, and transportation suppliers across railway, bus, airport transfer, and mobility services. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining core business systems that power our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core business systems
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and gRPC services
• Participate in architecture design and technical decision-making
• Integrate OTA platforms, supplier systems, and third-party services
• Develop high-concurrency and highly available applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents
• Continuously improve system performance and code quality
• Collaborate closely with product, operations, and engineering teams

About you

• Minimum 1 year of professional Golang development experience
• Experience using Gin framework
• Good understanding of software design patterns
• Understanding of High Cohesion and Low Coupling principles
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience using message queues such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or RocketMQ
• Experience handling concurrency using Channels, Mutexes, and synchronization mechanisms
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills
• Good understanding of MySQL database design and optimization
