Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build and scale the core backend services powering high-scale, global payment flows. You will own features end-to-end, from design to production, and work closely with product and engineering teams to build reliable, scalable, production-grade systems.

What You'll Do

• Build the core backend services that power high-scale, global payment flows , owning features end-to-end from design to production.
• Work directly with product and engineering to ship features rapidly from idea to production.
• Design and build production-grade services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and MongoDB.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability across services, databases, and APIs through better patterns and architecture.
• Debug production issues, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve the systems that power our client.

What We're Looking For

• 4–6 years of experience as a backend engineer, preferably at an early-stage startup or on a small team where you owned outcomes end-to-end.
• Strong working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and MongoDB , we are not flexible on the tech stack.
• Strong backend fundamentals across API design, data modelling, system design, and distributed systems.
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade systems at scale.
• Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, speed, and willingness to learn in a high-growth environment.
• Strong communication skills and a high degree of ownership.
