Backend Engineer

We're hiring a Backend Engineer to work on the core of our messaging platform. You'll build and maintain systems that process billions of messages across SMS, Email, Voice, and WhatsApp — working with high-throughput queues, real-time analytics, and distributed infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain backend services for the multi-channel messaging platform
• Build high-throughput APIs handling millions of requests per day
• Work with message queue systems (RabbitMQ, Gearman) for reliable delivery
• Optimize ClickHouse queries and data pipelines for real-time analytics
• Implement new features across SMS, Email, WhatsApp, and AI Calls channels
• Write clean, testable code with proper documentation
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions

What we're looking for

• Strong backend development experience (PHP/Yii2 preferred, or similar frameworks)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB) and query optimization
• Familiarity with message queue systems and asynchronous processing
• Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
• Experience with Docker and Linux server environments
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to debug production systems
• Good English communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse or other columnar databases
• Knowledge of SMS/telecom protocols (SMPP, SS7)
• Experience with high-traffic systems (millions of transactions/day)
• Familiarity with React/TypeScript for occasional frontend work
