Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to design and build secure, scalable backend systems supporting autonomous AI and cybersecurity platforms.

The role involves significant ownership across system architecture, distributed systems, security, networking, cloud and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using TypeScript and/or Python.
• Build systems for agent orchestration, queuing, scheduling, retries and long-running workflows.
• Develop secure credential brokering, access control and traffic interception services.
• Implement audit trails, evidence collection and multi-tenant isolation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and work directly with customers when required.
• Design reliable systems that can handle failures, restarts and evolving workloads.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and product engineering teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of backend/software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript or Python development experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design.
• Knowledge of HTTP, TLS, proxies and networking.
• Experience with AWS and containers.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Strong security mindset covering least privilege, authorization and credential security.
• Experience designing systems independently rather than only implementing predefined solutions.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and customer communication skills.

Good to Have

• Mitmproxy / Envoy or proxy technologies.
• Vault / OpenBao or secrets management.
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
• LLM/AI agent orchestration and guardrails.
• Cybersecurity, penetration testing or security engineering experience.
• SOC 2 / enterprise security exposure.
