Backend Engineer - Java

Aim: To build a next-generation multi-tenant PropTech platform for the Indian real-estate market.

The platform combines a public property marketplace with a builder-exclusive CRM, including lead routing, inventory management, payment plans, WhatsApp-native communication, and compliance (RERA/DPDP). The backend is being built as a Java 17/21 + Spring Boot modular monolith, designed to evolve into microservices without requiring rewrites.

What You'll Work On

• Build complete domain modules from database to REST APIs.
• Implement real business logic such as lead exclusivity, inventory reservation, and payment installment generation.
• Design and maintain clean module boundaries and event-driven integrations.
• Write meaningful unit, integration, and tenant-isolation tests.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews where technical discussions and constructive feedback are encouraged.

We're Looking For

Senior Backend Engineers

• Strong Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience building production SaaS, fintech, marketplace, or other multi-tenant systems.
• Solid understanding of transaction management, optimistic locking, indexing, and event-driven architecture.
• Ability to review designs and maintain clean architectural boundaries.

Backend Engineers

• Strong Java fundamentals.
• Experience building REST APIs with Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA.
• Comfortable writing SQL queries and understanding query execution plans.
• Good Git and pull request practices.

Experience with Testcontainers, ArchUnit, Gradle, PostGIS, WhatsApp/Meta integrations, or AI-assisted development is a plus but not mandatory.

Interview Process

• 30-minute technical screening
• Approximately 2-hour take-home assignment (focused on architecture, multi-tenancy, and testing)
• 60-minute design discussion
• Final discussion covering team fit, compensation, and start date

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
