Backend Engineer - SaaS Platform

As part of the expansion of our SaaS platform engineering hub in Mauritius, we are looking for Backend Engineers who will help design, build, and scale secure cloud services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement backend services for our SaaS encryption and key-management platform

• Develop APIs, microservices, and integrations with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)

• Write clean, secure, well-tested code

• Collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and security engineers

• Participate in design reviews, architecture decisions, and code reviews

• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of backend components

• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

Requirements

Qualifications and experience

• 3+ years in backend or server-side software development

• Strong experience in at least one of: Go, Python, Java, Node.js, or Rust

• Experience building REST/gRPC APIs

• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases

• Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Nice to have

• Experience in cryptography, security, KMS/KHSM/KV

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message queues

• Experience with microservices at scale
