Backend Engineering Manager - Remote

🚀 Backend Engineering Manager | LATAM | Remote

I’m working with a fast-growing AI healthcare company looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and develop their remote LATAM engineering team.

This is a people-focused leadership role rather than a traditional Tech Lead position. You’ll manage an existing team of ~8 engineers, with further growth planned, while working alongside Technical Leads responsible for code quality and technical direction.

You’ll still need a strong technical background across backend engineering, APIs, data pipelines and enterprise integrations , with previous healthcare / HealthTech experience highly desirable .

What they’re looking for:

• Strong Engineering Management & people leadership experience

• Experience managing, mentoring and developing remote engineering teams

Healthcare / HealthTech experience highly desirable

• Experience with healthcare integrations, FHIR / HL7 would be a big plus

• Strong backend fundamentals – APIs, data pipelines & distributed systems

Python and/or TypeScript background preferred

• Experience with complex enterprise integrations

• Strong English communication skills – you'll be working closely with US-based teams and customers

• Experience working within a US-based start-up or engineering organisation would be beneficial

📄 Contract

🕐 Good overlap with US East Coast hours required

The interview process is weighted heavily towards leadership and people management , rather than LeetCode-style technical interviewing.
