Backend Java Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java (Spring Boot, Spring ecosystem)
• Architect and build robust REST APIs for internal and external integrations
• Handle end-to-end ownership of services development, deployment, monitoring, and optimization
• Work extensively with MySQL and MongoDB, ensuring data consistency, performance, and scalability
• Implement and manage event-driven systems using Kafka / ActiveMQ
• Debug and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure system stability
• Deploy and manage services on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using Elastic Stack (ELK)
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams for seamless delivery
• Contribute to system design decisions, including architecture, scalability, and performance improvements
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices

Preferred candidate profile

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in backend development
• Strong expertise in Java (Java 8/11/17) and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with MySQL and MongoDB (query optimization, indexing, schema design)
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or ActiveMQ
• Experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Strong debugging skills with experience handling live production systems
• Familiarity with Elastic Stack (ELK) for logging and monitoring
• Working knowledge of Node.js / Python for scripting or auxiliary services
• Understanding of API security, authentication, and performance tuning
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
