Backend Java Developer

We are looking for experienced Backend Java Developers with strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.1+, AWS, REST APIs, databases, ETL/data pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

The developers will work on scalable backend systems supporting genomics, healthcare, scientific, and clinical data platforms. The role involves building high-performance APIs, cloud-native services, data pipelines, and backend systems that process large-scale datasets.

Candidates should also have exposure to authentication and authorization technologies such as OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, or related technologies.

Excellent communication skills are important. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with technical teams and clients and, particularly at the senior level, leading or coordinating team activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.1+.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for platform integrations and data services.
• Build and manage ETL pipelines and data workflows for large-scale biological and clinical datasets.
• Work with MySQL, Elasticsearch, and data warehouse systems for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage services using Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment.
• Implement authentication and authorization using OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, or related technologies.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and code quality.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics scientists, data engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to reliable and scalable backend solutions.
• Senior developers should be capable of team coordination and client engagement.
