Backend Python Developer

Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Python and AWS Cloud.
• Build and enhance ETL connectors for integrating data between internal and external systems.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance REST APIs and microservices.
• Analyze existing applications and implement enhancements to improve reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Design and optimize database solutions using PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL).
• Develop serverless solutions using AWS services.
• Create and maintain event-driven integrations using AWS EventBridge.
• Develop and support data processing and file-based workflows utilizing Amazon S3.
• Monitor application health, performance, and logs using AWS CloudWatch.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure timely resolution of incidents.
• Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver robust technical solutions.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Python backend development.
• Experience developing APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Strong SQL and database development experience with:
• PostgreSQL
• Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services:
• AWS Lambda
• API Gateway
• Amazon S3
• Amazon EventBridge
• CloudWatch
• Experience developing and supporting ETL connectors and data integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and backend development best practices.
• Experience with Git and source control management.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and API testing.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth and JWT.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability best practices.
