What they need

Help leading international companies run their compensation cycles more efficiently. We are building the next generation of compensation management software. Join our tech team, where you will be working closely with the founder team to build the backend infrastructure and analysis engine that many large enterprises will rely on for future salary decisions.

You will own entire features, and rely on our strong internal experience, customer feedback, and customer advisory board to ensure we nail our customer’s requirements. We’re a fast-growing, fast-moving team. You’ll have ownership of your work, flexibility in how you approach problems, and the opportunity to be part of shaping our backend architecture as we scale.

This role is not just about bug-fixing or tweaking, but an opportunity for you to deep-dive into the world of compensation management, and put your fingerprint on the internal processes of leading companies. We do not expect you to know everything from day one, but we expect you to be a fast learner, open to the chaos of a startup environment, and to have a winning attitude.

Core requirements:

  • 3 or more years of professional experience as a Python backend developer
  • Hands-on experience with Flask or a similar Python web framework (e.g., FastAPI, Django) in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, and at times, unstructured environment
  • A builder mentality - you are eager to build and want to work as a team to win the market

One or more of the following:

  • Experience with data analytics or/and statistical modelling
  • Experience with cybersecurity and data protection (big plus)
  • Experience with front-end development (Next.js)

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience writing unit and integration tests; familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Git and standard GitHub workflows (branches, PRs, code reviews)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions
  • Experience deploying or managing services on Google Cloud Platform or similar working knowledge of Docker; any exposure to Kubernetes is a bonus

What can you expect from PayGap

  • A fun and collaborative environment with plenty of space to grow as a developer
  • Lots of company events, from company off-sites (recently we spent a week in Spain) to team dinners with nice food
  • Flexible working conditions. You decide how your day is structured.
  • The tech gear you need to excel
  • A salary between 45.000 and 60.000 DKK depending on your level of experience

Work location

We have a preference for in-office work (3-4 days a week) in our office at Gammel Strand in Copenhagen, but if you are truly the right fit and live outside of Denmark we are open to more remote setups.

About PayGap

PayGap already helps globally leading companies analyze their pay structures, to ensure fair and equitable compensation practices across their global workforce. Despite being a new entrant, we’ve proven that our unique combination of decades of experience from running compensation cycles in global companies combined with the newest technologies enables us to solve complex tasks for compensation teams. Currently, our big focus is on assisting companies comply with global pay equity legal frameworks (such as EU 2023/970 / Pay Transparency), which requires companies to identify and report on potential pay discrimination across their global workforce.
