Job Description About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer III to join our growing engineering team.

• In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of our core applications. You will work both independently and collaboratively on complex projects, leveraging your expertise in Go and Java to build robust, scalable systems.
• This position requires a strong understanding of software engineering principles, hands-on experience with modern technologies, and a passion for building high-quality, maintainable software.

Responsibilities Software Development & Maintenance

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reliable software applications using Go and Java, following best practices and coding standards.
• Implement complex features with guidance, demonstrating a solid understanding of software design patterns and principles.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high code quality.

Database Management

• Design and implement efficient and robust database solutions using relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Write efficient queries and apply database performance optimization techniques.

Cloud Infrastructure

• Work with AWS (or other cloud providers), utilizing services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and others.
• Understand and apply cloud security best practices.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

• Debug and resolve software issues effectively.
• Identify and communicate potential project risks.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Process Improvement

• Contribute to improving team processes and development workflows.
• Actively participate in team knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Testing & Instrumentation

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Understand and implement application monitoring and logging strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience, with hands-on expertise in Go and Java.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS or other major cloud service providers.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and engineering principles.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience working in Agile development environments is a plus.
