Backend Software Engineer – HPC & Data | Contract | London Hybrid ( 3 days onsite)

I'm looking for a Backend Software Engineer. This is not a traditional Data Engineer role . The focus is on backend software engineering around large-scale data and HPC infrastructure .

What you'll be doing

• Building backend tools and services around large data sets
• Working with database systems and APIs
• Developing and supporting data pipelines and data replication
• Working across AWS and on-premises data centre environments
• Designing systems for distributed data and compute environments
• Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and turn them into technical solutions
• Contributing to platform and system design
• Supporting secure and reliable production systems
• Participating in an on-call rotation

Must have:

• Strong Backend Software Engineering experience preferably with Go / Golang
• Experience with data pipelines / data management
• Experience with databases and APIs
• Experience working with distributed systems
• HPC experience
• Experience with AWS and/or on-prem infrastructure
• Experience with data replication
• Platform/system design experience
• Security-focused backend or platform development
