Backend Software Engineer (Node.js/Python)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer (Node.js/Python) responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure and scalable backend applications and services.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable backend applications and services.
• Develop RESTful APIs and system integrations using Node.js and/or Python.
• Integrate applications with SAP, BigQuery, relational databases, cloud platforms, and third-party systems.
• Design database structures, queries, stored procedures, and data-access layers.
• Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access control, logging, and audit trails.
• Optimize API, application, and database performance.
• Apply secure coding practices and protect confidential business data.
• Participate in requirement analysis, solution design, effort estimation, and sprint planning.
• Write unit and integration tests and support QA, UAT, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, deployment notes, and source-code repositories.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data engineers, business analysts, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
• Follow coding standards, version-control practices, peer reviews, and the approved SDLC process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong academic or practical understanding of software development, databases, APIs, and application architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Strong ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to delivery timelines.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work across multiple digital initiatives.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
