Backhoe / Mini Ex Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Backhoe / Mini Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, particularly backhoes, and will be responsible for performing various tasks on construction sites. This role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Duties

• Operate backhoes to dig trenches, holes, and foundations as required for various construction projects.
• Perform loader and grader operations as needed to assist with site preparation and material handling.
• Conduct horizontal drilling tasks when necessary for utility installation or other project needs.
• Safely operate dump trucks to transport materials to and from the construction site.
• Utilize bulldozers for land clearing and grading activities as part of site development.
• Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and coordinating repairs when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations on the construction site to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in backhoe operation or similar heavy equipment roles is essential.
• Familiarity with dump truck, loader, grader, and bulldozer operations is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory.
• Commitment to safety practices and procedures on construction sites.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks as required.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass drug test.

Pay: $20.26 - $29.00 per hour
