Backhoe/Excavator/Trackhoe Operator II - 1219

*Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.*

Position Purpose/Summary The Backhoe/Excavator/Trackhoe Operator II is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by operating heavy machinery to dig trenches, foundations, or removing debris for the Project.

LOCATION

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

PRIMARY DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate machinery to complete tasks such as digging, excavating, and move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
• Perform basic routine operator maintenance, lubrication, and fueling of equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
• Operate machinery to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
• Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
• Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
• Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.

Qualifications At a minimum, the Backhoe/Excavator/Trackhoe Operator II must have 3+ years of relevant, proven, experience operating construction equipment. National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification is preferred.
