Duties

• Safely load, unload, and transport baggage and cargo using appropriate ground support equipment such as baggage carts, dollies, and forklifts where certified.
• Assist with baggage tracking and ensure accurate handling to prevent loss or damage.
• Conduct manual handling of luggage, including heavy lifting, in outdoor conditions at the airport ramp.
• Operate ground support equipment in compliance with safety protocols and maintenance schedules.
• Communicate effectively with team members using two-way radios to coordinate baggage movements and airport ramp activities.
• Follow all federal aviation regulations and security procedures during baggage handling and airport operations.
• Support airfield equipment maintenance and perform basic mechanical checks to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain organized baggage storage areas, adhere to logistics protocols, and ensure timely delivery of luggage to aircraft or baggage claim areas.
• Uphold customer service standards by assisting passengers with baggage inquiries when needed.
• Participate in safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety protocol adherence among team members.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English; proficiency in Haitian Creole or other languages is a plus for effective communication with diverse teams and passengers.
• Previous experience in airport ramp operations, warehouse work, or logistics is preferred.
• Demonstrated supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
• Valid forklift certification and experience operating ground support equipment are highly desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge related to airport ground support machinery and equipment maintenance is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods.
• Knowledge of federal aviation regulations, security protocols, and aviation safety standards is essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual materials handling tasks regularly outdoors.
• Excellent communication skills for effective two-way radio operation and team coordination.
• Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
