Bagging Machine Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bagging Machine Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining automated bagging equipment to ensure products are packaged accurately, safely, and efficiently while meeting quality and food safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated bagging and packaging equipment.
• Set up, adjust, and change machine settings according to production requirements.
• Verify bag weights, seals, labels, and packaging quality.
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to Maintenance or the Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate production and downtime records.
• Ensure work areas remain clean and organized in accordance with housekeeping standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, HACCP, and applicable quality procedures.
• Assist with product changeovers and line start-ups.
• Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating bagging, packaging, or manufacturing equipment is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and operating procedures.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills are considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lb).
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and moving equipment.

Working Conditions

• Rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required based on production needs.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or industrial packaging.
• Forklift certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or food safety standards is an asset.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
