Baker and Cook Position

Welcome to The Larder Cafe and Bakery Ltd trade as The Village Bakery Cafe. We are a family-owned cafe and bakery business located at 52 Moa Street Piopio Waikato and 80 Te Kumi Road, Te Kuiti Waikato (New Shop coming up)

 We are well known in the area and local. We are serving our fresh bake goods and hot foods and dishes to our customers 7 days a week and we are extremely busy and need an helping hand in our kitchen to deal with workload, demand and expansion. We are looking for

Baker Position

You will need to or must have

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in Baking pastries such as pie, breads, sweets dough, cake etcor

· Certificate in Cookery and Baking or

· Achieved Bachelor’s Degree in any field will also be considered for the role

· Good communication, working attitude, time management, kitchen and baking skills

· Must be able to work in early hours, on the weekend and public holidays

Location, Salary and hours

· 52 Moa Street Piopio Waikato and/or 80 Te Kumi Road, Te Kuiti Waikato

· Pay rate of $29.66 per hours

· Minimum of not less than 30 and max of 40 hours per week start at 4 Am

· Required to work on the weekend and public holidays

The responsibilities will be but not limited to the following

· Preparing, checking and weighing ingredients and Baking specialty breads, sweets, dough, pastries, flat cakes, pies etc.

· Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

· Making specialty rolls and breads as needed by the menu or requested by the owner

· Cooking the filling for pies or savouries

· Monitoring oven temperatures and goods appearances to determine baking time.

· Loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of breads, pies, rolls and other pastry products.

· Liaise with other bakers and cook and work as a team to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations.

· Make sure all day to day job is completed before finish the shift.

· Before and after work, must keep the working area in good sanitary condition and clean, including baking equipment to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and food control plans

Cook Position

You will need to or must have

· A minimum of 2 year working experience in a Cafe or Restaurant or

· Cookery or Cook certificates or

· Achieved Bachelor’s Degree in any field will also be considered for the role

· Have knowledge and understanding of Basic Food Hygiene Standards

· Has passion in cooking and creativity (new ideas and new menu)

· Ability to work as Team with other cook or kitchen staff

· Good Kitchen management, clean and tidy

Responsibilities and tasks will be but not limited to the following

· Prepare Food, ingredients, seasoning and cooking dishes to customers' order and takeaway

· Place the order on the plates or takeaway containers.

· Use of all food stock and kitchen equipment

· Check and maintain stock levels and examine orders (foods and ingredients) when received from food suppliers and store in the cold room.

· May freeze and preserve foods when required

· Assist and give ideas in the planning of new menu items when required

· Coordinate, supervise and help train other kitchen staff (If required)

· A high standard of cleanliness and sanitation must be followed at all times to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and food control plans as set by the local council
