Later this year, Fergbaker is opening a brand-new bakery in beautiful Arrowtown. As we expand, we're looking for experienced bakers to join our team and play a key role in launching our newest store.

From naturally fermented sourdough and crusty baguettes to pretzels, burger buns and specialty loaves, you'll be part of a passionate team producing exceptional baked goods from scratch using quality ingredients and traditional techniques.

Located in the heart of Queenstown, Fergbaker has become a destination in its own right. While many people know us for our famous neighbours, Fergburger and the wider Ferg family, our bakery has built its own reputation for producing exceptional breads, pastries and pies using quality ingredients and traditional techniques.

The Role:

You'll be involved in producing a variety of breads from scratch, including:

• Sourdough
• Burger buns
• Baguettes
• Pretzels
• White and multigrain loaves
• Specialty and seasonal products

Working alongside an experienced team, you'll help deliver consistently high-quality products for one NZ's busiest bakeries.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Producing a range of breads from scratch to Ferg’s consistently high standards.
• Mixing, fermenting, shaping and baking dough using traditional baking techniques.
• Monitoring product quality throughout the production process.
• Working efficiently within a busy production environment.
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Supporting a positive team culture and contributing ideas for continual improvement.
• At times, you may be required to work from our food preparation facitilies in Queenstown CBD

What We're Looking For:

• At least 3 years' baking experience in a commercial bakery.
• A passion for producing high-quality bread from scratch.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
• A positive attitude and strong team ethic.
• A formal baking qualification is preferred, but not essential.
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends.
• Your own reliable transport to get to shifts in Arrowtown
