About the role

Manage the day-to-day operations of the bakery and pastry section of the kitchen, and ensure the timely production of breads, Chinese pastries and Western pastries.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh and measure flour and other ingredients accurately to prepare dough and pastry mixtures
• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, Chinese pastries and Western pastries according to recipes and production requirements
• Prepare, mix and portion various ingredients to create fillings, creams and other pastry components
• Shape and mould dough and pastry to produce different types of breads and pastries
• Operate and control ovens and other baking equipment to ensure proper baking and consistent product quality
• Follow recipes, production schedules and quality standards to ensure consistency in taste, texture and appearance
• Clean the workplace and carry out basic cleaning and minor maintenance of baking equipment on a daily basis
• Maintain good housekeeping and demonstrate awareness of workplace and kitchen safety practices
• Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety and hygiene standards throughout the baking and pastry production process

About you

• Diploma in Baking & Pastry or relevant qualification; candidates with at least 1 year of relevant experience may also be considered
• Experience in preparing both Chinese and Western pastries, as well as bread
• Passionate about baking and pastry making, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Able to adhere to food safety, hygiene, health and workplace safety regulations
• Able to work efficiently and meet production schedules and deadlines
