Part-time Baker — Pie Maison

Location: Off-site commercial kitchen in Bend + downtown retail shop

Status: Part-time roles available

Pay: $19-22/hour, based on experience and role

Schedule: Mornings and weekends required

ABOUT PIE MAISON

Pie Maison is a modern pie house where classic comfort meets refined craft. We are creating a premium, European-inspired pie shop in downtown Bend that elevates pie from a nostalgic dessert into an everyday luxury.

We’re building our opening team and looking for team members who care about craft, consistency, reliability, and kindness.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pie Maison is hiring a part-time baker to support daily pie production. Our production will happen in an off-site commercial kitchen in Bend, with pies transported to our downtown retail shop for sale.

The baker roles are a mix of hands-on pie production, daily prep, cleaning and organization, and product transport. Bakers help set the retail team up for a smooth service each day by ensuring pies are baked, transported, and handed off safely and beautifully.

We also value creativity and ownership in your craft. As Pie Maison grows, we’ll rotate monthly specials and seasonal flavors, and we welcome collaboration on flavor ideas, recipe refinement, and ways to make our pies even more exceptional.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare pie doughs, fillings, toppings, and other bakery components
  • Execute daily and weekly production lists
  • Bake and finish pies according to Pie Maison standards
  • Maintain consistency across recipes, appearance, texture, and quality
  • Help create, maintain, and refine daily and weekly production lists based on retail needs, pre-orders, inventory, and sales patterns
  • Confirm daily production counts and product needs
  • Pack finished products for safe transport to the retail shop
  • Safely load, transport, and hand off pies and bakery products between the commercial kitchen and retail location
  • Communicate sold-out items, limited inventory, product quality issues, or production needs
  • Help track ingredient needs and communicate low inventory
  • Label, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products properly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, food-safe production environment
  • Follow sanitation, cleaning, and food safety checklists
  • Help train and support additional bakers as the team grows

YOU MAY BE A FIT IF

  • Have pie, pastry, or production bakery experience
  • Are reliable for morning and weekend shifts
  • Work cleanly and efficiently while maintaining consistency
  • Can follow recipes precisely and consistently, while taking pride in your craft and communicating thoughtful ideas to refine flavors and process
  • Care deeply about quality and presentation
  • Can safely pack and transport delicate bakery products
  • Have strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Can obtain an Oregon food handler card within 30 days of starting
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation/access to a reliable vehicle

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience following daily prep or production lists, with the ability to help create and refine them over time
  • Experience training or supporting other team members
  • Inventory, ordering, or prep-planning experience
  • Experience safely transporting food products

PHYSICAL REALITIES OF THE JOB

  • Stand and move for extended periods
  • Work around ovens, mixers, knives, and hot trays
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Pack, load, and unload packaged pies and bakery products
  • Move carefully and efficiently with delicate products
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift
  • Drive between the commercial kitchen and downtown Bend retail shop as part of the workday

BENEFITS & PERKS
