Good Friend is a bakehouse and coffee bar producing organic, gluten-free superseed breads, baking mixes, and baked goods, alongside a small, thoughtful food menu.

About the Role

This is a role spanning production baking support and café food execution.

You’ll move between preparing whoesale breads, mixes, and cookies in the production flow, and supporting the café during service — ensuring enough supply during high volume hours or days.

The work requires range and presence:

• Focus during production
• Timing and awareness during café hours
• Care in both repetition and finishing

This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys working with ingredients from start to finish — and understands that even simple food can be done exceptionally well.

What You’ll DoBaking (Breads, Mixes, Cookies)

• Assist in preparing, baking, and finishing breads and cookies according to established recipes
• Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients for bread mix production
• Package breads, mixes, and baked goods for retail, wholesale, and DTC
• Label, organize, and stage finished products by channel
• Maintain ingredient organization and flag low inventory

Back-of-House Service (Baked Goods)

• Prepare Good Friend’s baked goods needs during service with consistency, care, and attention to detail
• Maintain awareness of timing and flow of the café
• Support a smooth, steady production flow — not rushed, but responsive

Kitchen Fundamentals

• Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout prep and service
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace protocols
• Monitor quality across both production and service
• Communicate clearly with Head of Operations and FOH team
• Support shared kitchen responsibilities and overall flow

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a kitchen, bakery, or food production environment preferred
• Comfort moving between prep, production, and packaging
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to follow recipes and systems precisely
• Calm, steady working style — especially during service
• Respect for ingredients, tools, and shared space
• Ability to stay organized while managing multiple rhythms of work
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Schedule

• Shifts available Mon - Friday
• Hours (approximate - to be confirmed: 6:30 am – 2:30 pm

Compensation at Good Friend is designed to be fair, transparent, and aligned with responsibility.
