Baker

About the role

The baker will be responsible for daily bakery production, including preparing dough and fillings, shaping, proofing and baking buns and other bakery products according to standard recipes and quality requirements. The role requires consistency, cleanliness, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily mise-en-place, ingredients, dough and fillings required for production
• Follow standard recipes, measurements and production procedures accurately
• Handle dough preparation, mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, baking and finishing
• Ensure all bakery products meet the required quality, appearance, texture and consistency
• Perform quality checks on finished products and report any defects or production issues
• Adhere to food safety & hygiene regulations, including HACCP & HALAL standards
• Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling and rotation of ingredients
• Keep equipment, utensils and work areas clean and sanitized
• Monitor ingredient levels and inform team leader or purchaser when stock is low
• Work closely with team to ensure smooth daily production

About you

• Certificate / Diploma in Pastry, Hospitality Management or equivalent
• SPM or STPM
• Previous experience in bakery, pastry kitchen or F&B production is preferred
• Knowledge in food safety regulations & health standards
• Basic knowledge in food preparation & pastry operations
• Ability to follow recipes & instructions accurately
• Strong attention to detail & time management skills
• Able to work in a team and individually
• Attended Food Handlers Course
• Valid typhoid injection
