Baker Job Description

A baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, such as bread, cakes, pastries, and pies. They must be able to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistent quality. Bakers must also be able to operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, such as bread, cakes, pastries, and pies
• Follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistent quality
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters
• Decorate and present baked goods in an attractive manner
• Ensure that all baked goods are fresh and of high quality
• Clean and maintain the bakery area and equipment
• Order and maintain inventory of baking supplies and ingredients
• Collaborate with other bakery staff to develop new recipes and products

Requirements

• Ability to work fixed early-morning shifts, including weekends and holidays

• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this role, with limited tolerance for unplanned absences or last-minute call-offs

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, coverage-critical production environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment and comply with food safety standards

• Ability to make quick decisions and handle time-sensitive production demands
