Brooklyn Sweet Spot is looking for a reliable and efficient Production Baker to join our bakery for one consistent production shift each week.

This position is best suited for someone with moderate professional baking experience who can walk into an organized production environment, follow established instructions precisely, and work independently from start to finish without constant supervision.

We value consistency, efficiency and attention to detail. You should be comfortable managing your own workflow, keeping an eye on the clock and completing the day's production before the end of your shift.

Typical Thursday Production

You will be responsible for approximately:

• cookie dough production
• carrot cake production
• brownie production
• Additional production tasks as directed by the Head Baker

Ingredients will be prepared and production instructions provided. You are expected to follow all formulas, measurements and directives exactly.

This is not a position for someone who likes to improvise recipes. Our products must taste and look the same every time.

• Punctual and dependable. 5:00 AM means ready to work at 5:00 AM.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Meticulous about following recipes and production instructions
• Accurate when weighing and measuring ingredients
• Fast and efficient without sacrificing product quality
• Clean and organized throughout your shift
• Able to manage multiple production tasks and baking times
• Self-directed and able to recognize what needs to happen next
• Receptive to instruction and feedback from the Head Baker
• Calm, mature and professional
• Reliable and consistent from week to week
• Someone with a genuine sense of urgency
• Someone who takes pride in the quality and appearance of their work
• Warm, pleasant and easy to work with

Personal phone use is not permitted during active production.

Physical Requirements

You must be able to:

• Remain on your feet for the majority of the shift
• Lift and carry heavy commercial mixing bowls
• Lift up to 50-pound bags of flour and/or sugar
• Safely load and unload ovens
• Perform repetitive mixing, portioning, lifting and other production tasks
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation throughout production

Experience

Moderate baking experience is required.

Professional bakery, restaurant, catering or other commercial-kitchen experience is strongly preferred.

You do not need decades of experience. What matters most to us is your ability to follow instructions precisely, work efficiently without being supervised, maintain our standards and finish the production list.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced baker looking for one consistent production day per week with an established neighborhood bakery.
