Baker — Tamper Coffee, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield

Help us build the bakery at Tamper’s new neighbourhood café.

Tamper Coffee is an established Sheffield independent, known for our New Zealand-inspired brunch, specialty coffee and warm hospitality. We’re opening a new café on Ecclesall Road, bringing together brunch, bakery and great coffee, and we’re looking for a baker to work alongside our Head Baker, Irene.

This is a hands-on role in a small team, producing fresh baking from scratch and helping shape an exciting new bakery offering.

The role

Working alongside Irene, you will:

• Prepare and bake cakes, slices, biscuits, buns and other sweet and savoury cabinet products.
• Help produce our New Zealand-inspired favourites, alongside seasonal bakes and new recipes.
• Follow recipes accurately and deliver consistent quality, presentation and portion sizes.
• Support daily preparation, baking schedules and stock rotation.
• Help develop and test products as we establish the new bakery.
• Keep waste under control and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
• Follow food safety and allergen procedures.

About you

You’ll have experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen or café producing fresh baking from scratch. You should be organised, reliable and comfortable working at pace, with a good eye for detail and pride in what you make.

Experience with doughs, pastry and savoury baking would be useful. Above all, we’re looking for someone who enjoys baking, works well in a small team and is keen to contribute ideas.
