Baker

A baker prepares and bakes a variety of baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies. They may work in bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, or production facilities. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes.
• Mix doughs and batters using mixers, blenders, and hand tools.
• Shape and mold doughs for loaves, rolls, or specialty baked goods.
• Operate ovens and other baking equipment.
• Monitor baking process to ensure quality and consistency.
• Decorate baked goods (e.g., frosting cakes, glazing pastries).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Keep inventory of baking supplies and order ingredients as needed.
• Adapt recipes or create new ones for seasonal or customer demands.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Physical stamina (standing for long periods, lifting heavy sacks of flour).
