Role Description

The Baker at Sipsters Soda Shop is an on-site position based in Kettering, OH. This role is responsible for preparing and baking high-quality cookies, pretzel bites, and other specialty treats that complement our signature soda menu.

The Baker will oversee daily baking and food preparation activities, ensuring that all products meet Sipsters' standards for taste, appearance, freshness, and consistency. Responsibilities include preparing doughs and batters, following established recipes, managing baking schedules, maintaining ingredient inventory, and ensuring that baked goods are ready to meet daily customer demand.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about baking. This individual should be comfortable working independently, managing production efficiently, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen.

As Sipsters grows, the Baker will also have opportunities to contribute creative ideas for new cookies, seasonal treats, and specialty menu offerings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial bakery, restaurant kitchen, or professional baking environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, including dough preparation, mixing, portioning, baking, frosting, and decorating.
• Ability to consistently follow recipes and produce high-quality baked goods with uniform taste, texture, and appearance.
• Experience preparing cookies, pretzels, pastries, or similar baked products is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan production schedules and meet daily inventory needs.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, proper ingredient storage, and commercial kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Ability to monitor ingredient inventory, minimize waste, and support efficient production practices.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of baking operations.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, growing business.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and handle ingredients, baking trays, and kitchen equipment.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for developing new baked goods and seasonal offerings are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary or pastry training is beneficial but not required.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
