Company Overview

Brick Street Bagels began in a South End apartment where founder Jordan baked bagels in the early mornings and late nights around his day job and made deliveries by bike around the city. Since then Brick Street has slowly been expanding from pop-ups around the city to permanent shops in South Boston and the South End. Brick Street is taking its next step and opening a full time bagel shop in Beacon Hill.

Baking bagels in the morning, rolling bagels during the day, weighing ingredients, picking music, packaging cream cheese, lifting heavy boxes, sweeping, joining in our flour bag curling competition..and plenty more.

We work hard and fast. We’re a small team and so there is always something to be done. During the hours you’re here you are pretty much working the whole time and doing whatever is needed. It can be physical work at times but for many on our team, this is actually their favorite part as it's quite a nice departure from sitting in an office chair all day.

This is a very fun crew and a great work environment. A very common thing to hear from folks who have left our shop to relocate cities or start a job elsewhere is "please keep me in the loop, I'd love to continue helping out on weekends if you ever need an extra set of hands".

Position Overview

Working as a Baker in our kitchen you will be tasked with the daily boiling/baking of our bagels and dough production. Each morning will begin with the boiling, seasoning and baking of the bagels. Once that is complete, the next day's bagels will be prepared by operating the mixer and bagel machine. You will need to work quickly and efficiently and keep a clean work space. You will be working within a small team and must be able to act intuitively and take direction from the shop manager and head baker.

We are seeking individuals who are hard working, organized, work well within a team, have fun and are willing to take on any task, big or small.

Schedule

6am-2pm. Weekend availability is required.

160 Charles Street, Beacon Hill

Start Date

October 26th. Ideally we would begin to slot you into a couple shifts over the coming weeks in one of our other shops. Things would then start in earnest in Beacon Hill in early November.

Compensation

$24/hour.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Prepare consistent, high quality bagels.

-Comfort working with your hands and handling dough.

-Work quickly, efficiently and keep a clean work space.

-Collaborate with the team around you and take direction and feedback from the shop manager and head baker.

-Be outgoing and friendly to customers you interact with.

-Assist with dishwashing and FOH cleaning, as needed.

*Experience in food service is required*

We are looking for individuals able to work 30-40 hours per week, including weekends. An ability to start work at 6:00 is required.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
