Bakery and Kitchen Assistant

Newton’s No Gluten is hiring a Part-Time Food Production Assistant to join our allergen-free food manufacturing team in Guelph.

This is a permanent, in-person, day shift role in a fast-paced production environment with no evenings.

Expected 12–16 hours per week to start, with the opportunity to grow to 30+ hours per week over time.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on food production environment
• Able to follow directions, systems, and food safety protocols
• Fluent in reading, writing, and understanding English
• Must have reliable, independent transportation to and from our Guelph facility
• Physically able to:
• Stand for the entire shift
• Regularly lift up to 20 lbs
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and frequent task changes

Key Responsibilities

• Weigh, measure, prep, and package ingredients for food production
• Accurately label food packaging according to strict guidelines
• Assist with production of baked goods and prepared meals when required
• Weigh, label, and package finished baked goods, meals, and proprietary mixes
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
• Repeatedly clean and sanitize:
• Work surfaces and equipment
• Floors and production areas
• Dishes and utensils using a commercial dishwasher and hand washing

Schedule & Hours

• Part-Time, Flexible Day Shift
• Tuesday through Saturday, between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
• No evening shifts
• Closed Sundays & Mondays
• Expected 12–30+ hours per week

Expected 12–16 hours per week to start, with the opportunity for additional hours as training is completed, responsibilities increase, and production demand grows. This role has the potential to grow to 30+ hours per week over time.
