Bakery Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of baked goods, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about menu items.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient order processing and cash handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment and workstations.
• Support barista duties by preparing coffee and other beverages as needed, utilizing coffee experience to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Engage in sales activities by promoting bakery products and upselling items to customers.
• Handle cash transactions accurately while demonstrating basic math skills for effective cashiering.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours while managing time effectively.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor to enhance the customer experience.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
• Experience with POS systems, particularly Aloha POS or Micros POS, is a plus.
• Barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour
