Part-Time Bakery Team Member

The Bakery – Marsh Barton, Exeter

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team at The Bakery in Marsh Barton.

This is a varied, hands-on role in a busy independent bakery. No two days are exactly the same – you’ll be preparing and cooking delicious food, serving our customers and helping us keep The Bakery looking its best.

What you'll be doing

Your role will include:

• Cooking and preparing our range of breakfasts
• Baking and serving our pasties, sausage rolls and other hot food
• Making fresh sandwiches and baguettes
• Preparing salads and other fresh food
• Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks
• Serving customers behind the counter and providing friendly, efficient service
• Taking payments and operating the till
• Keeping food displays fully stocked and looking great
• Restocking products, packaging and supplies throughout the day
• Cleaning and tidying the shop, kitchen and preparation areas
• Following food hygiene and safety procedures
• Helping with the general day-to-day running of the bakery

Who we're looking for

You don't necessarily need previous bakery or catering experience because full training will be provided.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who is:

• Friendly and confident with customers
• Reliable and punctual
• Hard-working and willing to get stuck in
• Comfortable working in a busy environment
• Able to work as part of a small team
• Happy to turn their hand to different jobs throughout the day
• Proud of producing great food and giving great customer service
• Proactive – someone who sees what needs doing and gets on with it

Hours & availability

Applicants must be available to work:

4 weekdays per week from 7:30am
All day Saturday

The role will include one weekend off per month.

Exact hours and working days can be discussed, but the above availability is essential.
