Bakery Associate

Job Summary

Third Space is a bakery that specializes in British baked goods. We do everything from scratch and are looking for someone who enjoys learning new cooking skills, interacting with customers and can multi-task. We're a busy place and it can get a bit hectic at times, but we truly enjoy what we do. You'll be making shortbreads one day and filling pasties the next, so it never gets boring. This is a small bakery so if something needs doing we all pitch in. Due to regulations, employees do need to be over 18. Prior experience is a plus, however we will happily train the right candidate. Hourly pay does not include tips and all tips are paid to employees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of baked goods, including sponge cakes, pasties, sausage rolls, biscuits and scones, following established recipes and safety standards
• Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens efficiently and safely
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety management practices and sanitation protocols
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when needed
• Keeping dry good bins filled

Qualifications

• Be able to lift 50 lbs
• Knowledge of baking techniques and food handling safety standards, being serv-safe certified is a plus
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with excellent knife skills and recipe adherence
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory
• Previous experience in food industry settings such as restaurants or catering is a plus
• Passion for culinary arts with a desire to learn new baking techniques and foods

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
