Bakery Café Associate

Dolce GF Patisserie is looking for an experienced, friendly, and dependable Bakery Café Associate to join our team for the upcoming holiday season.

This is a seasonal position through the holiday season, with potential for permanent employment based on performance, reliability, and business needs.

About the Position

The Bakery Café Associate is primarily a front-of-house customer service position. You will be one of the friendly faces our customers interact with and will help create a welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a café, bakery, restaurant, or customer-service environment and is comfortable working in a busy setting while maintaining a positive attitude and attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers with a warm, professional attitude
• Provide knowledgeable customer service and answer questions about our bakery products and ingredients
• Take and fulfill customer orders accurately
• Prepare coffee, specialty drinks, and other beverages
• Package bakery, dessert, and meal-to-go orders
• Maintain and restock the pastry display
• Keep the café and front-of-house areas clean, organized, and presentable
• Handle customer transactions and operate the POS system
• Follow proper food-safety and allergen cross-contact prevention procedures
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

While the primary focus of this position is customer service and café operations, all team members are expected to help where needed. Additional duties may include:

• Dishwashing and maintaining a clean dish area
• General cleaning and sanitation
• Assisting with basic back-of-house bakery production
• Packaging and preparing products
• Restocking supplies and ingredients
• Other duties that support the daily operation of the bakery

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a café, bakery, restaurant, food service, or customer-service position is required
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable learning and speaking knowledgeably about bakery products and ingredients
• Able to prepare beverages and handle food safely
• Willing to perform a variety of tasks and jump in where needed
• Must be able to follow detailed food-safety and allergen cross-contact prevention procedures

Because Dolce GF Patisserie operates a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, strict adherence to our food-safety and cross-contact prevention procedures is an essential part of the position.

Schedule

This is a seasonal position for the upcoming holiday season. Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs, with additional hours potentially available during busy holiday periods.

There is potential for the position to transition into a permanent role after the holiday season for the right candidate.
