Bakery Clerk and Baker

Job Summary
Join our sweet small business bakery team as a baker/barista, where you'll play a key role in creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for our customers. We are hiring for a closer and a baking position.

The closing position is mainly a front of house position with light baking duties.

Duties

• Assist customers with product selections, answer questions about baked goods, and provide friendly service to enhance their shopping experience
• Prepare and assemble baked items, including cakes & pastries, following established recipes and quality standards
• Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques to create visually appealing designs that delight customers
• Package baked goods carefully to maintain freshness and presentation during handling and transportation
• Maintain cleanliness of the bakery area by cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly in accordance with food safety standards
• Support food production tasks such as mixing ingredients, portioning dough or batter, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all food handling regulations
• Barista and serve on Front of house when needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts is highly preferred
• Strong skills in food preparation, food handling, and kitchen safety practices
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
• Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work efficiently in a busy environment
• Experience with food industry standards including catering or restaurant environments is a plus.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques such as baking or cooking are desirable
• Passion for people & baking with a keen eye for detail in food presentation and decoration.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
