Bakery Clerk – Closing Shift

At Uncle Mike’s Food Emporium, we believe every visit should feel warm, welcoming, and memorable. Our Customer Experience Specialists are the friendly faces of our bakery, helping guests find their favorite treats and making every visit a great experience.

We’re looking for a reliable, friendly team member to join us as a closing Bakery Clerk. You’ll serve customers, prepare beverages, assist with checkout, and help leave the bakery clean, organized, and ready for the next day.

Schedule: Closing shifts end at 9:30 p.m., with a slightly flexible start time between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. This position requires availability to stay through the end of the closing shift.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet customers and create a welcoming atmosphere
• Answer questions, recommend products, and assist with special requests
• Share knowledge of bakery items, seasonal offerings, and specials
• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, coffee, and other beverages
• Accurately ring up purchases and handle cash and credit payments
• Address customer concerns with empathy and help resolve issues
• Keep bakery displays, counters, and customer areas clean and organized throughout the shift
• Complete closing tasks, including cleaning bakery cases and the coffee area
• Restock supplies and prepare customer areas for the next day
• Work with team members to complete the closing checklist while providing friendly service through closing time

Job Requirements

• Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude
• Availability to work closing shifts ending at 9:30 p.m.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to help teammates
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable handling transactions and operating a register; training provided
• Willingness to learn about our bakery products and coffee drinks
• Attention to detail when cleaning and completing closing tasks
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus, but not required
