AJ’s Cookie Jar is a bakery that specializes in French macarons & Gourmet Cookies. Our goal is to give the community a special dessert experience. We offer a rotating weekly menu and special event services. We are looking for a bakery manager to help us serve the community.

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Bakery Manager to lead our bakery operations with energy and expertise. In this vital role, you will oversee daily bakery activities, ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Your leadership will drive efficiency, maintain inventory control, and uphold our commitment to excellence in baked goods production. Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of bakery operations, including food preparation, baking, and presentation to ensure top-quality products.
• Supervise and train bakery staff on food safety standards, proper handling techniques, and customer service excellence.
• Oversee inventory control processes, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste using POS systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation practices.
• Lead shift management by coordinating staff schedules, monitoring performance, and maintaining smooth daily operations.
• Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems, perform cash handling duties, and reconcile daily sales reports.
• Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership that motivates staff to achieve operational goals.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, reach, push/pull, regularly lift/move 30 lbs, lift/move 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or bakery operations within quick service or fast food restaurant settings.
• Strong background in restaurant management or hospitality management with supervising or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices, food safety management, and food industry regulations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff effectively and manage managerial responsibilities confidently.
• Basic math skills for managing budgets, profit & loss analysis, and order calculations.

Position Details:

The position will begin as Seasonal (October-December) with hours depending on your availability and business needs.

The permanent full-time position will be offered if the owner(Ashley Emerick) is to serve in the General Assembly. The results of the General Election are expected by November 10th. The Board of Elections may call the race sooner or later. We cannot offer you the permanent full-time position until the race is officially called.

In the event that the owner loses the race, the permanent full-time position will not be offered.

Required Availability:

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9am-5:30pm

Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 10am-6:30pm
