What they need

Baking in South Australia since 1938, Kytons Bakery is a proud family business renowned for its award-winning baked goods. Using quality ingredients, traditional recipes and genuine care, Kytons creates products that bring people together. From its expanded Edwardstown bakery and retail store, the business proudly supplies the wholesale, gift hamper, fundraising and food service sectors.

Kytons Bakery is now seeking a full-time Bakery Production and Compliance Coordinator to join their team in their newly expanded manufacturing and retail space in Edwardstown. This role combines hands-on baking and production with support for day-to-day operations, warehouse coordination, and compliance responsibilities.

Reporting to the Managing Director and Production Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager with:

  • Hands-on baking, wrapping, cleaning and general production duties.
  • Planning and overseeing weekly production schedules and workflows.
  • Managing inventory, wholesale orders, ingredients and packaging.
  • Leading staff, including rosters, staffing levels and daily priorities.
  • Maintaining HACCP, WHS, food safety and quality standards.
  • Identifying ways to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
  • Assisting with new product development and working with sales and distributors to meet customer needs

Skills
Ideally, you will have a qualification or experience as a Baker and/or Pastry Chef, along with previous leadership experience within the food manufacturing industry. You’ll also have basic computer skills and either experience using, or a willingness to learn, inventory management systems.

  • Strong understanding of food production processes, process improvement, waste reduction, and quality standards
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team while working collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of HACCP procedures and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify issues and find practical solutions.

Apply
If you enjoy being hands-on in the bakery but are equally comfortable with the paperwork, planning and compliance that keep operations running smoothly, this is your next career move!
