Baklava Baker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Baklava Baker to prepare high-quality traditional and modern baklava products. The ideal candidate will have experience in Middle Eastern sweets production, with strong knowledge of ingredients, baking techniques, and consistency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake different types of baklava according to company recipes and standards
• Handle phyllo dough, nuts, butter, and syrups with precision and care
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all products
• Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality
• Prepare fillings (pistachio, walnut, cashew, etc.) and sugar syrup as per specifications
• Cut, portion, and present baklava products accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station
• Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
• Manage daily production quantities based on demand
• Minimize waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a baklava baker or similar role in sweets/pastry production
• Strong knowledge of Middle Eastern desserts, especially baklava varieties
• Ability to work with phyllo dough and delicate pastry techniques
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high-volume production (factory or commercial kitchen)
• Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP)
• Experience with different syrup and nut combinations

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
