Job Purpose & Scope:

Assists Deposit Operations Balancing management by responding to retail branch requests for assistance related to cash processing, Stop Pays, Non-Posts, Bounce Proof, ACH transactions, and charge-offs. Performs problem analysis when system problems occur.

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs responsibilities in a professional and accurate manner and according to Bank policies, procedures, and established compliance regulations.
• Assists branch employees with transactional processing issues.
• Balances checking accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Balances Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and work with retail branch staff and third party vendor(s) to resolve outages.
• Processes non-posted items for deposit applications and the general ledger.
• Balances primary correspondence accounts.
• Verifies Stop Payments and Delayed Availability forms.
• Performs all functions of the BounceProof program.
• Reconciles Bank-wide teller cash, identifies outages, and works with retail branch staff to resolve issues.
• Provides first-line support and resolution for Integrated Teller and Teller Cash Recycler issues and escalates to Deposit Operations Balancing management and Integrated Teller administrator, if necessary.
• Processes and troubleshoots ACH transactions and exceptions, death notices, and reclamations.
• Processes charge-off accounts, performs payment tracking, and generates credit reporting.
• Processes complex research requests, as assigned by Deposit Operations management.
• Monitors internally used general ledger accounts for transaction appropriateness.
• Monitors asset verifications and government requests, such as Medicaid and Social Security Administration.
• Trains new employees within the Deposit Operations team.
• Designs and utilizes Excel spreadsheets in completing daily job tasks.
• Completes all required training by assigned deadlines.
• Develops and revises any procedures related to assigned job functions.
• Responsible for any Quality Assurance reviews.
• Maintains good attendance and punctuality to work.
• Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

• Ability to train and support multiple functions within the Deposit Operations environment.

• Ability to effectively communicate with internal, external customers, and third party vendors.
• Ability to learn, follow, and interpret regulations such as Reg E and Reg CC.
• Ability to work extended hours as necessary
• Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience with computers, including Microsoft Excel, required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience processing and/or supporting accounting or retail financial transactions (i.e., ACH transactions, Stop Payments, non-posts processing, overdraft protection activities, teller cash transactions, complex account reconciliations) OR one (1) year of experience as a Balancing Analyst I, required.
