What they need

NHS Fife is committed to providing safe, effective, high-quality care for the people of Fife. We are delighted to offer an exciting new opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our dedicated team within the rehabilitation wards at Cameron Hospital.

This role is ideal for a newly qualified physiotherapist looking to develop core clinical skills or for an existing Band 5 seeking to broaden their experience in a supportive and dynamic rehabilitation environment.

Our Rehabilitation Wards deliver person centred, goal focused care to adults requiring functional, mobility, and recovery support following medical, surgical, neurological, or frailty related conditions. You will work as part of a friendly and experienced multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Medical, and Allied Health colleagues.

What The Role Involves

  • Providing high quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for adults with a wide variety of presentations.
  • Working collaboratively with MDT colleagues to develop and deliver effective, patient centred rehabilitation plans.
  • Contributing to safe discharge planning and ensuring appropriate onward referrals and communication with community services.
  • Participating in service development, quality improvement, and audit activities.
  • Supporting the development of students and rehabilitation support workers where appropriate.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC standards and NHS Fife policies.

What We’re Looking For

  • HCPC registration (or pending registration for newly qualified applicants).
  • Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • A compassionate, adaptable approach and commitment to person centred care.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and learning.

Cameron Hospital is set among attractive grounds with ample green space and sitting areas. It is within easy reach of Central, South and West Edinburgh as driving is opposite the commuting traffic coming into the city. Cameron Bridge Railway Station is a 5 minute walk from the hospital

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.

Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.

Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.

Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.

Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. All applicants are required to confirm their right to work in the UK in their application. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK), European Community (EC) or European Economic Area National please state the visa category under which you are legally entitled to work in the UK on your application form and the expiry date of your leave to remain in the UK

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found in the government website.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
