Finance Partner (Private Credit) | New York

A leading international law firm is seeking a Finance Partner to join its market-leading Private Credit practice in New York.

This opportunity is well suited to existing Partners or Counsel ready to make the move into partnership who have established experience in private credit, leveraged finance or broader banking & finance. The team continues to invest strategically in senior talent, offering the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the continued growth of one of the market's premier private credit practices.

The Partner can expect to lead and develop matters across areas including:

• sponsor-backed acquisition financings,
• direct lending and unitranche facilities,
• NAV, recurring revenue and other bespoke financing structures,
• refinancing, recapitalisation and liability management transactions,
• special situations and opportunistic credit matters, and
• complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions.

The role offers significant scope to lead sophisticated transactions, develop and deepen client relationships, and take ownership of strategic business development , working directly with direct lenders, private credit funds, private equity sponsors and other institutional capital providers.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to mentor and develop junior lawyers and contribute to the broader strategic direction and continued expansion of the firm's private credit offering.

Candidates should ideally have:

• 8+ years' experience advising on private credit, leveraged finance or broader banking & finance transactions,
• significant experience acting for direct lenders, private credit funds, private equity sponsors and/or other institutional capital providers,
• an established or developing client following and demonstrated business development capabilities,
• excellent drafting, negotiation and client management skills,
• strong commercial judgement and the ability to lead complex transactions and teams, and
• experience gained at a leading US or international law firm.
