BANQUET CAPTAIN

Watermark BR, located beautiful downtown, is looking for Full-Time Banquet Captains. The Banquet Captain is responsible for supervising and assisting in serving food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards.

 Essential: (partial list)

• Respond to guests needs in a timely manner. Communicate problems/issues to the Food and Beverage Manager or Director.

• Assist Banquet Manager/ F&B Manager or Director with the creation of the Banquet Work Schedule and completion of Banquet Wage Progress Reports.

• Inspect the setup of meeting and banquet functions, checking them against the Banquet Event Order.

• Act as liaison between Sales/Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact.

• Employees must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.

• Perform preparatory tasks and side-work duties to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.

• Know how to read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function.

• Serve guests according to the hotel’s standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.

• Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents. Communicate to management, if necessary.

• Set all tables according to hotel standards.

• Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for food service functions.

• Clean-up banquet space after the completion of the function and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored and restocked properly.

• Prepare room according to BEO and the various meal functions.

• Follow all money handling procedures when serving the guests.

Our one-of-a-kind hotel is a part of the Marriott's Autograph Collection and boasts of a historic classic design both inside and out. Built as Baton Rouge's first "skyscraper" in the 1927, our iconic building started out as the headquarters for Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank. After more than 50 years serving as a banking institution, our landmark continues to be informally called the Old Louisiana National Bank building. The original architecture was Art Deco, but there are intriguing elements of Greek Revival design also present, making this one of the most eclectic and interesting structures in downtown Baton Rouge. Murals painted by celebrated New Orleans artist, Angela Gregory, have been painstakingly preserved and adorn the ceilings of our magnificent lobby and restaurant. Carved marble walls and a grand staircase lead down to the original bank vaults that held the treasures of Baton Rouge's elite. Towering above downtown overlooking the Mississippi River, Watermark BR stands as a tribute to the city's history and elegance. Stunningly preserved, our beautiful public spaces and restaurants blend references of the 20's through the 60's with modern design.
