Banquet Manager

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and service-oriented Banquet Manager to oversee banquet operations at our resort and hotel. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent event management capabilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The Banquet Manager will be responsible for managing weddings, receptions, corporate meetings, conferences, social events, and outdoor functions while ensuring high service standards, operational efficiency, cost control, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of banquet halls, conference facilities, lawns, and outdoor event venues.
• Plan and execute weddings, receptions, corporate events, conferences, and social functions.
• Coordinate with the Sales, Events, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, and Security teams.
• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event schedules, menus, seating arrangements, and special guest requirements.
• Ensure timely venue setup, food service, event execution, and post-event clearance.
• Supervise banquet captains, supervisors, stewards, bartenders, and service staff.
• Prepare duty rosters, allocate manpower, and ensure adequate staffing for each event.
• Maintain high standards of guest service, grooming, hygiene, and operational discipline.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure prompt resolution.
• Coordinate with clients, wedding planners, decorators, and approved external vendors.
• Monitor banquet revenue, food and beverage costs, labour expenses, inventory, and operating budgets.
• Minimize food wastage, breakage, and unnecessary operating expenses.
• Maintain banquet equipment, furniture, linen, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
• Train team members on service standards, upselling, guest handling, and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, food safety regulations, fire safety requirements, and hygiene standards.
• Work with the Sales team to improve banquet business, client satisfaction, and repeat bookings.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience in banquet operations within a hotel, resort, or hospitality property.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position is preferred.
• Experience handling weddings, large gatherings, corporate events, and outdoor functions.
• Strong knowledge of banquet service standards, event coordination, and food and beverage operations.
• Understanding of manpower planning, inventory management, cost control, and budgeting.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.
