Job Summary

The Waiter / Waitress is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to guests. The role includes welcoming customers, taking and serving food and beverage orders, maintaining cleanliness and table presentation, handling customer requests, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience.

Key Responsibilities1. Customer Service

• Welcome and greet customers warmly upon arrival.
• Assist customers with seating when required.
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service throughout the dining experience.
• Explain menu items, daily specials, promotions, and ingredients when requested.
• Answer customer questions and provide suitable recommendations.
• Handle customer requests, feedback, and complaints politely and professionally.
• Check on customers regularly to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and service.

2. Taking Orders

• Present menus and provide information about food and beverage selections.
• Take customers' food and drink orders accurately.
• Confirm special requests, allergies, dietary requirements, and meal preferences.
• Enter orders correctly into the POS system or communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar.
• Ensure orders are served according to the correct table and customer requirements.

3. Food & Beverage Service

• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
• Check orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation.
• Follow proper serving and clearing procedures.
• Refill beverages and provide additional items when requested.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and other service staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Clear used plates, glasses, and cutlery efficiently.
• Present bills accurately and process payments when required.

4. Table & Restaurant Maintenance

• Prepare and set tables according to restaurant standards.
• Ensure tables, chairs, menus, and service areas are clean and presentable.
• Clean and reset tables promptly after customers leave.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, service stations, and other assigned areas.
• Restock cutlery, napkins, condiments, menus, and other service items.
• Report damaged equipment, spills, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.

5. Hygiene & Food Safety

• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain good personal hygiene and proper grooming standards.
• Handle food, beverages, plates, and utensils safely.
• Follow company procedures for preventing contamination and food-related risks.
• Keep work areas clean and organized at all times.

6. Teamwork & Operations

• Work closely with kitchen, bar, cashier, and management teams.
• Support colleagues during busy periods.
• Attend staff briefings and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Follow restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in customer service is an advantage.
• Fresh candidates may be considered depending on the establishment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, polite, and customer-oriented personality.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Basic ability to communicate in English and/or the languages required by the workplace.
• Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.

Pay: $1,300.00 - $1,800.00 per month
