Bar Captain

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the bar team, ensuring outstanding service delivery and adherence to company standards
• Manage bar inventory, stock levels, and ordering procedures to maintain optimal supply and minimise waste
• Train and mentor bar staff on mixology, product knowledge, and customer service excellence
• Create and maintain cocktail menus that reflect current trends whilst maintaining signature offerings
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations at all times
• Monitor cash handling and payment procedures to maintain accuracy and security
• Manage guest relations and resolve any bar-related concerns with professionalism and discretion
• Collaborate with restaurant management and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service integration
• Conduct regular quality checks and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Track performance metrics and contribute to revenue optimisation through upselling and operational efficiency

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years' experience in bar management or as a lead bartender in high-end hospitality venues

• Advanced knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail preparation techniques

• Proven leadership and team management experience with the ability to motivate and develop staff

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset

• In-depth understanding of food and beverage cost controls and inventory management

• Knowledge of licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol practices

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Fluency in English
