Bar Counter Associate

Job Summary

French Quarter Restaurant is hiring a Bar Counter Associate to support bar and restaurant service by assisting guests, processing orders and payments, preparing beverage orders, and maintaining a clean and organized counter area. This role helps provide efficient, friendly service while supporting smooth daily restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide friendly, professional service at the bar counter
• Take food and beverage orders accurately
• Prepare and serve non-alcoholic and other permitted beverages according to company standards
• Process cash, card, and other customer payments accurately
• Operate POS systems and maintain accurate order records
• Assist guests with menu and beverage questions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar counter
• Restock beverages, cups, napkins, garnishes, and service supplies
• Communicate customer orders with kitchen and restaurant service teams
• Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, glassware, and work areas
• Follow food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and applicable beverage-service procedures
• Assist with opening, closing, and general restaurant duties
• Perform additional bar and customer service duties assigned by management

Requirements

• Previous restaurant, bar, hospitality, food service, or customer service experience is an asset but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math and payment-handling abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stand for extended periods and multitask effectively

Preferred Skills

• Experience in bar counter or restaurant service
• Familiarity with POS systems and order processing
• Knowledge of beverage service and basic food safety practices
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Good organization and time management skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
