Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and customer-focused Bar Man to manage daily bar operations, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain high service standards, and ensure the bar is clean, well-stocked, and efficiently operated. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of beverages, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Mix and serve cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks, and other beverages.
• Provide excellent and professional customer service at all times.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments where required.
• Recommend drinks and assist customers in making suitable beverage selections.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of drinks, garnishes, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies.
• Monitor inventory and report low-stock, damaged, or expired items to the supervisor.
• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with proper inventory records.
• Ensure proper portion control and minimize wastage and spillage.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar, equipment, glassware, and work area.
• Operate and maintain bar equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure all drinks are presented attractively and meet established quality standards.
• Check identification and comply with applicable age restrictions when serving alcoholic beverages.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, stock usage, breakages, and wastage where required.
• Work closely with the kitchen, waitstaff, cashier, and other departments to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, restocking, and securing the bar.
• Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and responsible alcohol-service procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Bar Manager or Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience as a Bartender/Bar Man in a restaurant, lounge, hotel, club, or similar hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Practical experience in cocktail and mocktail preparation.
• Good understanding of bar inventory and stock management.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must be reliable, well-groomed, disciplined, and professional.
