What they need

About Us

Pelynt Social Club is a welcoming, community-focused members’ club offering a friendly environment, regular events, and quality food and drink for our members and guests. We are looking for someone who can manage the operation effectively but, importantly, also has the drive, ideas and marketing experience to increase footfall, develop events and promotions and help move the club forward.

This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys being front of house, engaging with customers and becoming part of the local community, while also being confident managing staff and taking ownership of the commercial performance of the club..

The Role

As Bar Manager, you’ll be responsible for running all aspects of the bar and hospitality service, ensuring high standards of customer care, compliance, and profitability. Acting as Front of House, you’ll be the first point of contact for members and staff, and play a key role in promoting events and driving engagement through social media and creative marketing. This is an opportunity for someone to make the role their own. We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm and imagination to help grow the club, attract new customers and develop Pelynt Social Club as a thriving venue for the local community and visitors to the area.

If you're an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys generating ideas, promoting events and getting people through the door, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the club and bar
  • Lead, manage and motivate the bar team, including rotas and staff development
  • Maintain excellent standards of customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors
  • Proactively develop ideas to increase footfall, sales and membership
  • Plan and coordinate entertainment, events and seasonal activities
  • Take responsibility for the club's marketing and advertising, including social media and local promotions
  • Develop promotions around key dates, sporting events, school holidays and local events
  • Build relationships with local businesses, holiday parks and community organisations
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, supplier relationships and stock control
  • Monitor sales and identify opportunities to improve performance
  • Ensure licensing, health & safety and other operational requirements are followed
  • Work closely with the Club Committee while being confident to take ownership of the role

About You

We’re looking for a confident, motivated individual with excellent leadership and organisational skills who thrives in a busy hospitality environment. You’ll be community-minded, proactive, and passionate about creating a welcoming experience for members and guests.

Essential Skills & Experience:

We are particularly interested in someone who has:

  • Previous bar, hospitality or venue management experience

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead
  • A proactive, hands-on approach – someone who sees an opportunity and acts on it
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required
